The Office of College Marketing relies on ADVANCED PLANNING. You will reap the benefits of
strategic market planning by calling/emailing the Director as soon as you know you have a new
program or course in the works. A plan evolves through communication and an understanding of
the program and goals.
Questions we may have include:
At what stage is the new program/course? EAC/Professional Staff/BOT/DHE approvals?
Course Titles finalized and approved?
Banner course numbering finalized?
What marketing initiatives have been done in the past?
What is the enrollment history?
What is new about the program? (upgrades, new expert faculty)
Other….
- Plan a free event (open house, information or career night)
- Call local School/Library/Chamber/Business Association to schedule a speaking opportunity
- Provide OCM with results of trend analysis conducted during program development
- Provide OCM with information regarding new faculty, new software/technology, new linkages/partnerships with community/business
- Support the Success Story initiative
- Submit Articles for the Annual Report to the Community
- Provide cutting edge statistical information related to the industry for PR use
Our goal is to provide you and your faculty with marketing materials and tools as necessary. Our
philosophy is that Marketing is everyone's job. If you have faculty going out to speak at area
high schools or to manufacturing groups we would be happy to discuss how we can help with
materials. It is also equally important to stay in touch with the Admissions staff - they are your
front line representatives to incoming new students.
