WATERBURY (Feb. 19, 2008) – The behavioral and social sciences division of Naugatuck Valley Community College will host Faith Middleton as this year’s keynote speaker at the 2008 Current Affairs Conference:  “You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby???”

The event will be held from 9-2:30p.m. on Friday, Feb. 29, and will feature a number of breakout sessions on women’s issues from business to health to education to relationships and other social issues.  A luncheon and idea exchange will also be offered at $10 per registrant.

Faith Middleton is host of the nationally syndicated “Faith Middleton Show” and “The Food Schmooze” on National Public Radio.  She has twice received the “Pulitzer” of national broadcast journalism, the George Foster Peabody Award, and an honorary doctorate from Charter Oak University.

The conference will take place at the Mainstage of the Fine Arts Center, which is located at the main campus, 750 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.  It is free and open to the public, aside from the luncheon and idea exchange, which will take place at the end of the event.  Registration is required by Feb. 22, in order to accommodate space and refreshments.
