NVCC’s spring non-credit courses begin this month

WATERBURY (Jan. 9, 2007) — Each new years brings a time of change and reflection — and an opportunity to get ahead in the workplace, live a healthier life or simply find more interesting ways to spend your free time by signing up for non-credit courses at Naugatuck Valley Community College.

NVCC has hundreds of non-credit courses that begin as soon as this month, including dozens of new courses in career advancement, foreign language, the studio arts and motorcycle education.

If you’re looking to jumpstart your career, NVCC offers a variety of courses that can help, including courses that can upgrade computer skills, teach team-building skills and outline how to build a business plan. There are also specialized courses in areas like health care, real estate and human resources.

If your New Year’s resolutions involve a healthier lifestyle, consider courses in kayaking or golf. Or if you promised yourself you’d learn something new in your free time, there are options that include music, sewing, painting and gardening.

Some of the spring’s non-credit courses at NVCC begin later this month, while others begin in February, March, April and May. The college’s non-credit catalog, listing all available courses, is now available. To see the catalog or register online, visit www.nvcc.commnet.edu. Information is also available at (203) 575-8029.

Located at 750 Chase Parkway off Exit 18 on Interstate 84, NVCC serves more than 5,600 students throughout the 35 communities from Waterbury to Seymour to Southbury and Danbury to Litchfield.
