January events at NVCC

WATERBURY (Dec. 18, 2006) — The following is a calendar of January events at Naugatuck Valley Community College, which serves 35 communities across western Connecticut from Litchfield to Waterbury to Seymour to Southbury and Danbury:

MONDAY, JAN. 8

Naugatuck Valley Community College is holding free hour-long information sessions and campus tours on Monday, Jan. 8, at 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for those interested in learning more about how its course offerings can help advance their careers through additional training and degree programs.

The sessions will take place at Kinney Hall, Room K505, on the college’s main campus, which is located at 750 Chase Parkway in Waterbury off exit 18 on Interstate 84. No appointment is necessary. For more information, call (203) 575-8294.

SUNDAY, JAN. 14

The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra will perform Sunday, Jan. 14, at Naugatuck Valley Community College with oboe soloist Olav Van Hezewijk.

Hezewijk will play Bach’s Concerto for Oboe d’Amore. The symphony will also play Handel’s Royal Fireworks Music and Brahms’ Symphony No. 1. The 3 p.m. performance will be held in the Mainstage theater in NVCC’s Fine Arts Center, located on its main campus at 750 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.

MONDAY, JAN. 15

Monday, Jan. 15, is the deadline to apply for the fall 2007 nursing, respiratory care and radiologic technology programs at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury.

Each program has its own set of prerequisites. Click for information on how to apply or for more information on those prerequisites, call the Office of Admissions at (203) 575-8151.

THURSDAY, JAN. 18

The spring semester at Naugatuck Valley Community College starts Thursday, Jan. 18.

NVCC offers more than 100 associate degrees and credit certificates, as well as hundreds of non-credit programs.
