NVCC voicemail system repaired

New hard drive means all calls to college answered again

WATERBURY (July 26, 2006) — The voicemail system at Naugatuck Valley Community College is up and running again after a six-day shutdown related to a hard drive failure.

Students and others calling NVCC between Friday, July 21, and Wednesday, July 26, may have found their calls went unanswered due to the problem.

The college has installed a new hard drive on the voicemail system’s computer. It went into service this evening.

During the shutdown, the college installed temporary answering machines on many of its most frequently used phone numbers, but it’s unlikely they were able to handle all the incoming calls NVCC received.

The college apologizes for the inconvenience and wishes to thank callers for their patience during the shutdown.

NVCC serves more than 5,600 students from 35 communities across western Connecticut from the Northwest Corner to Waterbury to Seymour to Southbury and Danbury. It is located at 750 Chase Parkway off Exit 18 on Interstate 84.
