Events at NVCC in August
WATERBURY (July 17, 2006) — The following is a calendar of August events at Naugatuck Valley Community College, which serves 35 communities across western Connecticut from Litchfield to Waterbury to Seymour to Southbury and Danbury:
THURSDAY, AUG. 3
Naugatuck Valley Community College’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program is holding an open house at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3.
The event will be held in Room K715 in Kinney Hall on NVCC’s main campus, located at 750 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Those who attend the open house will receive an overview of NVCC’s ESL program, have a chance to meet instructors and receive campus tours. Family members are also welcome.
NVCC’s ESL program is designed to help students whose native language is not English become proficient in English. NVCC’s ESL courses begin the last week in August and are available at both its main campus and its Danbury location. For more information, call (203) 575-8036.
MONDAY, AUG. 7
Naugatuck Valley Community College is holding free hour-long information sessions and campus tours on Monday, Aug. 7, at 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for those interested in learning more about how its course offerings can help advance their careers through additional training and degree programs.
The sessions will take place at Kinney Hall, Room K505, on the college’s main campus, which is located at 750 Chase Parkway in Waterbury off exit 18 on Interstate 84. No appointment is necessary. For more information about the information sessions and tours, call (203) 575-8151.

The fall credit semester at Naugatuck Valley Community College begins Monday, Aug. 28.
NVCC offers more than 100 associate degree and credit certificate programs and serves 35 communities across western Connecticut from Litchfield to Waterbury to Seymour to Southbury and Danbury.
