Visit the U.S. Department of Education - FAFSA Homepage www.fafsa.ed.gov

  • All Students must complete the current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form can be obtained at your high school or at our office. The FAFSA must be submitted to the Federal Processor after January 1st. To ensure timely awards, thc FAFSA should be received by the processor as soon as possible.

  • Be sure to include NVCC in Section H on the FAFSA. Our Title IV Code is 006982.

  • Complete the NVCC Financial Aid Form and return it to our office. Please include signed copies of tax returns and W2s (for both parents and student's).

  • Within 3-6 weeks you will receive a verification from the Department of Education that they have received your FAFSA.

  • NVCC will receive an Institutional Student Information Report (ISIR) which includes your Expected family Contribution (EFC).

  • Please respond to information request letters received from the Financial Aid Office.

  • Once your file is complete, your need will be calculated and you will receive an award letter. The award letter will show the amounts we are able offer to you.

  • You must sign and return the award letter within 7 business days with all the accompanying paperwork to finalize the award.
