The Career Services Office keeps up with the latest in all aspects of planning an effective job search and beginning a professional career. We would like to help you learn about preparing for your first professional or post-graduation job.
We can provide up-to-date information on how to
- Write resumes and cover letters
- Interview for jobs (including responding to commonly asked questions and questions that are illegal)
- Research a specific company
- Conduct a job search
- Use the Internet effectively in all phases of career development
- Find out the types of jobs that are available in a specific major
We have the latest information on job search strategies and can provide sample resumes and cover letters.
Our job listings are updated daily. We have resources to help students look up salary information, job outlook, and current demand for jobs within specific occupations.

Our Mission Statement:
The mission of the Career Services Center is to support the academic purpose of Naugatuck Valley Community College by providing comprehensive career services which result in a successful culmination of the educational experience. Further, our goal is to integrate the campus and the community for the advancement of student learning and career success. Therefore, the Career Services Office Center offers programs that meet the career/life challenges of those we serve. Services for Students and Alumni
The mission of the Career Services Center is to provide resources, advice and training to students and alumni which will give them job search skills and access to a broad range of career opportunities. Services include individual career planning, job skill workshops; job list bulletin boards, employer information sessions, and a career fair.
Job announcements received by the Career Services Center are posted daily. Students and alumni can register to receive updates for jobs in their career interest categories.
